Michele Camicia is a photographer who focuses principally on documentary projects in which he explores social issues. His timid, reflective, delicate and attentive, incisive and profound gaze is capable of perceiving the most authentic meaning of the narrative through the observation time of his camera lens. Each individual frame involves the viewer by instilling a catalyzing relationship. Communicative capacity and narrative force help the author to convey what he sees, without filters, without pretenses, and in great earnest.

The picture Dandora Dumpsite depicts the Dandora landfill in Kenya, one of the largest open-air landfills in Africa. It is part of a photographic series titled Mitumba which focuses on the business of second-hand clothing coming from the global North and the impact of textile waste on the environment.

Michele Camicia is an Italian photographer based in Milan. After studying Communication, he took photography courses at the Accademia John Kaverdash in Milan.

He is currently working on various short- and long-term projects at an international level. In his projects he works on original concepts applied to social and cultural themes, focusing on human crises. He collaborates with the photography agency Institute Artist, and has also contributed to various magazines and NGOs like InsideOver (IlGiornale) and UNICEF.
