Villa e Collezione Panza, property of FAI, hosts the first stop on the traveling exhibition Progetto Genesi. Art and Human Rights, conceived and curated by Ilaria Bernardi and promoted by Associazione Genesi: a cross-disciplinary and inclusive project lasting an entire year (09/21/2021-09/21/2022) that combines exhibition and educational activities for the purpose of offering a permanent education on the topic of human rights.
The exhibition presents for the first time ever to the public the contemporary artworks in the Collezione Genesi, which reflect on the urgent, complex, and often dramatic cultural, environmental, social, and political issues of our day and age.
At Villa Panza the exhibition opens on September 21, 2021, International Day of Peace.
The exhibition unfolds in Villa Panza’s “ala dei rustici” (rustic wing) and features six main theme-based sections, identified in the Collezione Genesi, through which the works convey this message linked to the defense of human rights.
The exhibition stars from the first room where visitors can view three groups of works related to the same number of theme-based sections: The Female Condition, The Memory of a People, The Color of a Person’s Skin.
The second room instead host the following theme-based section: Multicultural Identity.
The exhibition continues in the third and fourth rooms.
The work displayed in the third room deals with the following theme-based section: Victims of Power.The exhibition ended in the fourth room where visitors can view the following theme-based section: The Safeguarding of the Environment.
Discover the theme-based sections of the exhibitionAt Villa Panza, donated to FAI in 1996 and above all known for its Western American works of art, the Collezione Genesi is on display for the first time, made up of works by artists who mostly come from non-Western countries, thus triggering an interconnection between different times, places, and cultures.

These activities will continue for the entire duration of Progetto Genesi that is until September 2022.
